ABOUT DAVID WELLS
David is the founder and principal of Voom Pricing.
From 2007 to 2020, he was the managing principal of Melbourne law firm, Moores, having practised as a partner and specialist in commercial dispute resolution for the previous 14 years.
Under David’s leadership, Moores transformed from an old law practice, recording and charging time to become an icon for other professional knowledge firms wanting to capture value by strategic pricing. Moores ditched timesheets in 2013.
As one of the co-founders of renowned pricing consultancy Innovim Group, David has worked with a multitude of knowledge firms to:
shape their strategy on positioning;
uncover the value they create; and
implement pricing methodologies aligned with value.
He is also a senior fellow of the VeraSage Institute, an international think tank devoted to professional firm pricing, leadership and strategy.
David believes that knowledge is a non-rival asset. When it is shared, the recipient is better off and no-one is diminished. This principle informs his attitude to value creation and business model innovation.
